For the past few months bike rides have been new obsession. I LOVE THEM! I love hopping on my cute black & white Schwinn and heading down to the beach, riding along west cliff, or riding down to Capitola to visit my younger sister working at Mr. Toots (just did this today). There is something about being on a bike that makes me feel free.
I love riding by myself, with Brian, or with a group of people. Everything just seems more fun when you are on a bike, it's like an adventure and you never know where you are going to end up or who you are going to run into. Cheers to bike rides and feeling free!

Dahlias
One of the many reasons I love summer time (besides the warm weather, being able to wear dresses & sandals, BBQ's, bathing suits, iced tea, fresh fruit, etc.) is because of dahlias. These flowers are amazing. They come in every size, shape and color imaginable! This year my mom planted a dahlia garden (along with the millions of other flowers she has planted...she definitely has a green thumb). I love it when I can take a few home and put them in multiple places around the house, they just make me smile and make everything look better!
This is one of my favorites. The picture doesn't do justice to the size of the thing!

Crafty
A few months ago Brian and I bought an old window at the flee market. Originally we were going to use it to make a hutch, but due to the size of our cute little beach shack we realized that a hutch would take up too much space, so the window sat in the shed. That is until we heard the idea of turning an old window into a mirror.
Being the crafty guy that he is Brian took on the project by himself while I was at work one day. I came home and we had a mirror! He popped out the window panes, sanded everything down, painted it, distressed it, and then glued in the mirrors. I think he did an awesome job! It reminds me something that would be hanging in Anthropologie for one of their new displays, but they would have them hanging all over the store in multiple different colors. Anyway, here is the finished project...

New Hair
I finally did it. I bit the bullet, joined the rage, and got myself some bangs! It's funny how we can stress over something like bangs for two years. Every time I went in to get my hair cut I would think, "ok, i'm gonna do it this time, i'm gonna tell her that I want bangs." And two years later here we are finally, with bangs. It was quite the traumatic experience, i'm not going to lie :-)
They've taken some getting used to, but I think I like them. Everyone once in a while though I feel like i'm back in second grade on picture day. For instance, after a bike ride when they are all over the place and sticking straight up...it looks like i'm trying to relive the days of curling irons and hair spray on bangs.
Overall, they've been good to me. I needed a hair change and I'm so glad that I finally gave in after two years. If you've been wanting to do something with your hair I highly suggest you just do it. What's the worst thing that can happen? It's just hair, right?
