First Hair Cut

Our sweet little P was long overdue for her first haircut, even though she is only 4 1/2 months old...so when Brian was at Jeni's salon getting his haircut we thought, "why not now?" We put the drape on her and everything, and she was quite the trooper :-) Brian wanted to be involved in her first haircut, so he cut off the mullet portion (yes, she had a mullet) and then Jeni trimmed up her bangs a little bit along with some of the hair around her ears. The rest of the pictures are on Brian's phone, so i'll have post more once I get them.

Her hair is pretty out of control these days. Even though it is getting longer it has gotten so much thinner...and that mixed with the random bald spots is just too hilarious. Poor little girl...

Hair or not, we love our little P!

Sick Baby Girl

This is how I spent most of the past two days...

Sick baby

Poor little girl came down with a bad cold and low fever and was by no means her normal self. As sad as it is to have a sick baby, I enjoyed the time that she fell asleep on me and just let us hold her because that hasn't happened since she was a few weeks old. So glad she seems to be on the mend today!

Embrace the Camera, 2-17-12

We are seriously having the best winter here in Santa Cruz. I guess we need rain, but I'm such a sunny day lover/outdoorsy person that I am just LOVING our "mid-60's" winter weather :-) This means that The Bean and I can get out for a walk almost every day and not feel cooped-up by being inside all the time.

I'm a day late to "Embrace the Camera," but better late then never :-) These photos were taken yesterday on our stroll. Excuse the poor quality...they were taken with my iPod, which does not have as good of a camera as the iPhone...why? I don't know, but I think Apple should change that. Apple, please change your iPod camera...

And the crazy little bean, herself...I was trying to get her to sleep, but she wouldn't have it....

Lately there has been sand art all over the beaches by our house, and yesterday we caught Mr. Sand Art Man in action. Not his best creations, but fun nonetheless.

Embrace the Camera, 2-9-12

One of my favorite things babies do is go "straight as a board." Their little bodies are just so stiff, and I think it's hilarious. Multiple times a day I put Nella over my head and say, "straight as a board, straight as a board!"....she usually gives me a little smile and a squeal. So today, we are embracing the camera with some "straight as a board" shots.

Yes, she is still loving to grab hair. I now understand why moms cut their hair, or wear it back all the time....I'm not going to cut it, so I guess I better start learning how to do some cute, hair-pulled-back hairstyles.

Speaking of hair, I really have to figure out what to do with this little girl's wild mane!

Embrace the Camera, 2-2-12

This is the first time I have linked up to Embrace the Camera, and hopefully it is something that I will continue to do. I have been out of the blog world ever since The Bean was born and this is a nice and easy way to get back into it, as well as get some photos of me and The Bean! I either take pictures of Nella by herself or of Nella and Brian. Hopefully "embrace the camera" will change all of that!

Officially 3 months old as of yesterday...and pulling hair all the time!

I pulled out the camera today because yesterday (Feb. 1st) was her 3 month birthday, and I needed to document. I can't believe how much a baby changes in 3 months! She rolls over (most of the time) from tummy to back, smiles, coos, talks, screeches, yells, sort-of laughs, pulls hair, and just kills us with her cuteness!

Brian Bear - The Book

Who knew there was a book out there call Brian Bear? Isn't it amazing?!?! Our friend Danielle happened upon it at a garage sale in Hawaii, but it was pretty beat up and kinda nasty. She somehow found a nice, clean copy for little baby Baer.

How amazing is this book? A friend found it for us...thanks Danielle for the awesome find...we love it!

Here is the amazing story:

There's a sleepover tonight at Brian Bear's cave.
There'll be a midnight feast if they all behave.

The bears brush their teeth and say goodnight,
They jump in the bed and are tucked up tight.

The three little bears lie still in a row
But Brian Bear wriggles and over they go.

With a wiggle and wave they fall out and then
They all climb back in the bed again.
